Status roles are a self given title that represent some aspect of a person's being. Many status roles indicate some kind of relationship status and thus require a level of consent to be practiced.

Unlike Role-Play status roles are generally adopted on a consistent basis, not simply for the duration of a scene, though many role players may adopt a status role for the purpose of a role play scene. On some level, every one of these terms being defined indicates some level of role essentialism and in many cases language choice may presume gender, though status roles are very rarely gender exclusionary.

Controversy

Many Status Roles may be considered Culturally Exclusive by some.
