Unlike [[Role-Play]] status roles are generally adopted on a consistent basis, not simply for the duration of a scene, though many role players may adopt a status role for the purpose of a role play scene. On some level, every one of these terms being defined indicates some level of [[role essentialism]] and in many cases language choice may presume gender, though status roles are very rarely gender exclusionary.
