Here's a summary: put a colon before your paragraph to indent it. That helps you see who's replying to whom

Use headers to mark of specific topics. The shortcut to add a new one is the "add topic" link at the top when you're viewing the discussion page. Or you can find an existing discussion in the document and click the inline "edit" link.
Sign your stuff, at least by typing your name. But there are shortcuts. Three tildes is just your username or IP. Four tildes is your name AND timestamp. And five just does timestamp.
